A customs and logistics terminal is to be built near the railway station of Naushki. According to the RF Ministry for the development of the Russian Far East and Arctic, an agreement to this effect was signed between Far East and Arctic Corporation, Buryatia Republic, and Baikal Transit Customs and Logistics Terminal.
Baikal Transit Customs and Logistics Terminal intends to build a new customs and logistics terminal near the Naushki railway station that is located 900 km from the Erlian railway station in China to be reached via the territory of Mongolia. The new transport and logistics terminal will be used to provide customs clearance services for exporters and importers.
The terminal will serve cargo transport by both railway and road. It will also offer services to load cargo from railcars onto trucks and vice versa.
The infrastructure will include a customs terminal, a customs control checkpoint, facilities for veterinary and phytosanitary control, customs bonded warehouses, an oil tank farm for 76,000 tons and oil product storage facilities, a 10 ha container yard, and a customs control zone for timber and logs.
The estimated CAPEX at the first stage of the project is 360 million rubles ($3.9 million). There will be also a second stage.
