Murmansk Handles First Capesize in 2024

  • The Liberia-flagged “Cape Trader” has called Murmansk Commercial Sea Port becoming the first Capesize bulker at the port in the new year.

At present, the vessel is being loaded at Berth 14 of the port, Murmansk Commercial Sea Port said in a statement. The bulker is expected to leave Murmansk for India this week with a shipment of coal.

Handling Capesize bulkers is a key point in the port’s programme. During 2023, Murmansk Commercial Sea Port loaded 35 vessels of this type.

This year, the port expects to see even more Capesizes at its berths.
