The first shipment of citrus fruit in two years has been delivered to Astrakhan in Russia by the Caspian using the North-South international transport corridor.
Prior to this, citrus fruit was shipped to Astrakhan from Iran by rail and road via the territory of Azerbaijan.
According to the Astrakhan region government press office, the eight containers (six of them with oranges and two with tangerines) arrived from Mazandaran Province in Iran.
On completing the customs formalities, citrus fruit was loaded onto trucks to be carried to other Russian regions.
