According to SeaNews PORTSTAT analytic online service, the total container throughput via the Azov and Black Sea basin ports in January 2021 increased by 7.9% year-on-year. Import was up 1.8%, export up 15%. Transit dropped by 96.3%. Cabotage was non-existent in January 2021.

The share of the Azov and Black Sea basin in the total container traffic via all the Russian seaports in January 2021 amounted to 17.4%.

Laden container throughput grew by 8.4% year-on-year. Reefer containers accounted for 24.9% of the total laden container traffic, and dry containers for 75.1%. Imports made 61.6% of all the laden containers, exports 38.4%, and transit 0.01%.

Empty container traffic increased by 6.6%.

The port of Novorossiysk accounted for 99.2% of the aggregate container throughput via the Russian Azov and Black Sea basin sea ports in January. Azov handled 0.8%, and Kavkaz 0.01% of the total.
