RTSB-RUS Starts Rail Service for Grain from Altai to China

  • Logistics operator RTSB-RUS has started transporting grain from Altay Kray to China. The first full train carrying 76 40’ containers arrived at the railway station of Chengxian in China on January 24. The total weigh of the shipment is 1,900 tons.

    In addition to Altay Kray, the company said export designated grain can be loaded from Novosibirsk, Kemerovo, Tomsk and Krasnoyarsk regions.

    Grain is stuffed into special purpose liner bags, polypropylene inserts of the same shape as containers that protect grab and bulk cargo from moisture, dust and other contaminating factor, or into big bags, each of which can hold up to one ton of cargo.

    Laden containers are trucked to Novosibirsk and consolidated at the railway terminal of Kleschikha. From there, the cargo is loaded on board a full block train routed to the destination via the Zabaikalsk-Manzhouli border crossing.
