FESCO Sends Containers by Northern Sea Route

  • FESCO has dispatched the first container shipment from St. Petersburg to Vostochny and Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky by the Northern Sea Route.

89 40’ units laden with various commodities including export designated petrochemical products and sawn goods were loaded on board the nuclear-powered container vessel “Sevmorput” that left St. Petersburg on October 6.

The transit time to Vostochny is expected to make 21 day, plus 4 days more to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.

Part of the containers will be transshipped in Vostochny to be delivered to consignees in the Southeast Asia by FESCO’s maritime service.

Using the Northern Sea Route allows customers to diversify their export logistics, FESCO said.
