New Grain Berth in Azov Port

  • The Main Department of State Expertise has approved project documentation and engineering survey results for a project to build a new berth in Azov Sea Port.

    The new Berth 28 is to be built under the federal Sea Ports Development project. At present, the grain terminal of Azov Sea Port consists of four berths No 29, 30, 31 and 32 with a total quay length of 649.2 m and an annual capacity of 6.7 mn tons.

    The capacity of the new berth will be up to 1.7 mn tons per annum. The 130,9 m long berth will adjoin Berth 29 thus expanding the overall quay length to 780.1 m and increasing the terminal capacity to 8.4 mn tons per annum. Later, after Berth 27 is expanded, the terminal capacity will further increase to make 10.2 mn tons per annum.

    Berth 28 project area occupies 2.6 ha, the operation water basin will cover 2.5 ha. In addition to berth construction, the project envisages building a vessel loading facility, a control checkpoint, utility and administrative buildings, etc.
