Vostochnaya Stevedoring Company (VSC), a Global Ports Group company, has started handling new regular container services offering direct connections to the Chinese ports of Tianjin and Taicang. The services are operated by SWIFT LINE, a marine line of SWIFT Transport Group.
SWIFT LINE calls VSC twice to thrice a month with the m/v “Sol Hongkong” with a capacity of more than 650 TEU, including 30 reefer containers, as well as hazardous cargoes. The transit time between VSC and Tianjin and Taicang is 4 to 5 days.
Igor Pukhov, CCO of Global Ports Group, noted: “New routes offered by SWIFT LINE from VSC have expanded the geography of regular direct connections to China available to our clients in the Far East. The services will provide customers with more flexibility to adjust to rapid market changes and maintain uninterrupted supplies.”
Alexander Podylov, Director General of Vostochny Express, a railway business unit of SWIFT Transport Group, commented: “In partnership with VSC, SWIFT LINE delivers import cargo with expedited block trains to Russia’s key regions. The group’s competencies and our own transport asset base allow us to transport export goods produced in Russia to the consumers in the Asia-Pacific region. With a wide network of feeder routes, the geography of our business in this region includes all major ports of China and Vietnam.”
The new SWIFT LINE service complements the existing services connecting VSC terminal at the the port of Vostochny with the largest ports of China and other Asia-Pacific countries.
