ZiO-Podolsk, part of Rosatom’s machine building division Atomenergomash, has manufactured and dispatched the first bubbler for the third unit of Akkuyu power plant in Turkey.
The equipment will be trucked to the port of St. Petersburg to be loaded on board a vessel to deliver it to Turkey. The 15-ton unit made of austenitic chromium-nickel steel is used for steam condensation and makes an important component of nuclear island equipment.
The technical design of the bubbler was developed by Hydropress Design Bureau, the project documentation was developed by ZiO-Podolsk. The latter also supervised the manufacturing process.
ZiO-Podolsk made bubblers for China’s Tyanvan nuclear power plant, India’s Kudankulam, and for the nuclear power plants in Leningrad Oblast and Rostov.
