According to the RF Federal Customs Service, Russia’s crude oil export in 2021 was down 3.6% year-on-year to 230 mn tons. In terms of value, crude oil export increased by 52.2% year-on-year making $110.1 bn.
Oil products export grew by 1.8% up to 144.3 mn tons. In terms of value it was up 54.3% to $70 bn.
Diesel fuel export made 49.2 mn tons in terms of tonnage (-7.5% year-on-year) and $26.2 bn in terms of value (+34.6%).
Petrol export in 2021 decreased by 24.5% year-on-year down to 4.4 mn tons worth $2.5 bn, up 15.7%.
In December 2021, Russia exported 19.6 mn tons of crude oil, up 8.4% year-on-year and up 10.9% month-on-month. In terms of value, crude oil export surged by 81.9% year-on-year and grew by 8.2% month-on-month to make $10.7 bn.
Oil products export in December 2021 declined by 3.9% year-on-year and increased by 34.1% month-on-month to make 14.3 mn tons worth $8.2 bn (up 75.3% year-on-year and up 31.8% month-on-month).
Diesel fuel export made 4.9 mn tons (up 2.8% year-on-year and up 45.4% month-on-month) worth $3.2 bn (up 94.7% year-on-year and up 39.6% month-on-month).
Car petrol export in December 2021 declined by 18.7% year-on-year and increased by 1.1% month-on-month making 305.1 thousand tons worth $209.3 mn, up 44.1% year-on-year and down 9.2% month-on-month.
Natural gas export in 2021 amounted to 203.5 bn cbm, up 2.2% year-on-year. In terms of value, it surged 2.2-fold up to $55.5 bn.
Liquefied natural gas export during 2021 decreased by 3.2% year-on-year down to 66.1 mn cbm, its value was up 8.5% to $7.3 bn.
In December 2021, natural gas export made 16.1 bn cbm, down 18.3% year-on-year and up 12.6% month-on-month. Value-wise, it was worth $8.3 bn, up 2.7-fold year-on-year and up 15.8% month-on-month.
LNG export in December 2021 amounted to 3 mn cbm declining by 3.2% year-on-year and by 14.3% month-on-month. In terms of value, LNG export was up 2.1-fold year-on-year and up 7.6% month-on-month making $562.5 mn.
