According to the RF Federal Customs Service statistics, during January 2022 Russia exported 3 mn tons of ferrous metals, down 22.4% year-on-year and down 25.1% month-on-month. In terms of value, ferrous metals export grew by 29.1% year-on-year and declined by 17.3% month-on-month to $2.3 bn.
Intermediate iron and unalloyed steel products export in January 2022 was down 7.6% year-on-year and down 1.8% month-on-month making 1.3 mn tons. In terms of value, it increased by 33.7% year-on-year and declined by 12% month-on-month to make $837.8 mn.
Iron and unalloyed steel flat section export in January 2022 was down 15.9% year-on-year and up 7.2% month-on-month making 615.9 thousand tons worth $607.3 mn (up 45.6% year-on-year and up 4.9% month-on-month).
Cast iron export in January 2022 made 153.3 thousand tons, up 44.6% year-on-year and down 56.7% month-on-month. In terms of value, it amounted to $80.7 mn, up 2.1-fold year-on-year and down 56.8% month-on-month.
Ferroalloy export in January 2022 was up 17.4% year-on-year and down 0.5% month-on-month to 74.9 thousand tons. In terms of value, it grew by 71.6% year-on-year and declined by 14.1% month-on-month to make $138.8 mn.
