During January-April 2021 Russia’s export of sawn goods made more than 5.4 mn tons, down 5.3% year-on-year. According to the RF Federal Customs Service’s statistics, in terms of value, sawn goods export was up 17.9% making $1.6 bn.
Logs export increased by 17.9% year-on-year up to 4.6 mn cbm worth $344.6 mn, up 26.8% year-on-year.
Plywood export grew by 9.1% year-on-year to make 1.1 mn cbm worth $486.2 mn, up 26.3% year-on-year.
Wood pulp export in January-April 2021 amounted to 720.1 thousand tons, down 6.2% year-on-year worth $371.8 mn, up 14.2% year-on-year.
Newsprint export made 299.5 thousand tons, down 22.5% year-on-year, worth $104.8 mn, down 21.7% year-on-year.
In April, sawn goods export made 1.8 mn tons, up 8.8% year-on-year and up 13.2% month-on-month worth $565.1 mn, up 52.2% year-on-year and up 25.6% month-on-month.
Logs export made 1.2 mn cbm, up 23.7% year-on-year and down 3.8% month-on-month. In terms of value, it increased by 24.5% year-on-year and declined by 8.7% month-on-month to make $86.3 mn.
Plywood export in April, made 288.8 thousand cbm, up 19.1% year-on-year and down 1.7% month-on-month. In terms of value, it grew by 38.9% year-on-year and by 2.4% month-on-month making to $140.4 mn.
Wood pulp export made 210.4 thousand tons, down 2.4% year-on-year and up 16.4% month-on-month. In terms of value, wood pulp export increased by 30.8% year-on-year and by 34.9% month-on-month to make $126.4 mn.
Newsprint export declined by 10.1% year-on-year and increased by 4.6% month-on-month to make 79.1 thousand tons in terms of tonnage. In terms of value, it was up 1.4% year-on-year and up 12.4% month-to-month to $29.9 mn.
