According to SeaNews PORTSTAT analytic online service, the total container throughput of all the Russian sea ports in March 2021 increased by 5.2% year-on-year.
Export grew by 2.1%, import by 8.5%, and transit by 50.7%. Cabotage, on the contrary, declined by 1%.
Laden container throughput via the Russian sea ports was up 8%. Reefer containers accounted for 13.4% of the total laden container traffic, and dry containers for 86.6%.
Imports made 51.2% of all the laden containers, exports 36.2%, cabotage 9.3%, and transit 3.3%.
Empty container traffic decreased by 4.4%.
The Baltic basin accounted for 44.5% of the aggregate container throughput via the Russian sea ports in March. The Far East basin handled 35.4%, the Azov and Black Sea basin accounted for 17.4%, the Arctic basin for 2.7% and the Caspian basin for 0.05% of the total.
