The total cargo throughput via the Russian Far East basin ports in November 2021 decreased by 3.7% year-by-year.

According to SeaNews PORTSTAT analytic online service, export declined by 7.1%, and transit by 26.9%. Cabotage was up 11.9%, and import up 44.1%.

The share of the Far East basin in the total cargo traffic via all the Russian seaports in November 2021 amounted to 25.8%.

Almost 75% in the Russian Far Eastern ports’ commodity structure is coal, oil and products. In November 2021, coal and coke accounted for 42.6% of the total volume, crude oil for 24.8% and oil products for 6%. Containerized cargo constituted 10.3% of the total.

It should be noted that the highest growth rate was in the piece cargo segment (up 2.2-fold), reefer cargo (+93.9%) and other general cargo (+44.3%).

The commodities that decreased the most were grain (-72.9%), non-ferrous metals (-49.7%) and chemical and mineral fertilizers (-36.2%).

Vostochny accounted for 36.6% of the aggregate cargo throughput via the Russian Far East basin sea ports in November. Vanino handled 14.6%, and Vladivostok 13.8% of the total.
