Russia Restricts Seeds Import from ‘Unfriendly’ Countries

  • The Government of the Russian Federation has introduced restrictions for the import of seeds from the so-called unfriendly countries that support anti-Russian sanctions.

    According to Order No72 od January 27, 2024, the restrctions will be in force till the end of the year. The restrictions apply to the seeds of potatoes, wheat, rye, barley, corn, soybeans, sunflower and sugar beets.

    For seeds import from unfriendly countries, quotas have been set, which amount to 33.1 thousand tons in total.
