First Subsidized Cabotage Voyage from Arkhangelsk

  • Loading cargo for the first subsidized cabotage voyage by the Northern Sea Route from Arkhangelsk is underway, the press office of the Arkhangelsk region government reports.

    The m/v “Severny Proekt” will proceed from Arkhangelsk to the ports of Pevek, Vladivostok, Magadan, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and back to Pevek and Arkhangelsk. This will be the second subsidized voyage by the Northern Sea Route and the first one from the port of Arkhangelsk.

    Cargo loading on board the vessel started on August 15 is expected to take several days. The roundtrip is estimated to last up to 75 days.

    The first subsidized cabotage voyage this year was made by the nuclear-powered container ship “Sevmorput” from St. Petersburg to Nakhodka, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and Murmansk.
