TransContainer has launched in cooperation with partners in China a new train service from China to Russia routed via the border crossing checkpoint of Zabaikalsk, the company said in a statement.
The train runs from the railway station of Pinghu in Guangzhou to Vorsino in Kaluga region. The first train carrying 110 TEU departed Guangzhou on June 8 and arrived at Zabaikalsk on June 11. There, the containers were relayed onto the Russian standard 1520 mm gauge to proceed to Vorsino, where the train came on June 22.
Two more trains already were dispatched from Guangzhou, both lade with 110 TEU. The service will be provided on a weekly basis with a regular schedule.
In China, the service is provided by Transcontainer Freight Forwarding (Shanghai), a subsidiary of TransContainer.
