A new cargo terminal has been established in the river port of Arkhangelsk, the press office of the Arkhangelsk region government reports quoting the Agency for regional development.
According to Andrey Razgovorov, MD of Arkhangelsk River Port, the company equipped additional berths and a rather large warehousing site and established a third cargo terminal.
Thanks to the active development of oil and gas fields on the Yamal Peninsula and the construction of Bukhta Sever Port freight traffic via Arkhangelsk has grown significantly.
During the navigation season of 2022, more than 33 thousand freight railcars were handled. The River port of Arkhangelsk had to acquire additional equipment, including a large-capacity mobile crane, to cope with the growing traffic.
The third terminal handled 47 vessels loading 150 thousand tons of general cargo, construction materials, dozens of equipment units, and pipes during the summer of 2022. This year, the port I prepared to handle more cargo.
