The cargo ferry “Lavrentiy” operated by Oboronlogistics has completed her first voyage from Yeisk to Mariupol and back, the has company reported.
Oboronlogistics is getting ready to launch a regular ferry service between Yeisk and Mariupol via the Taganrog Bay. At present, navigation documents package is being finalized and the quay is being upgraded.
‘When all the legal and technical procedures are accomplished, the ferry “Lavrentiy” will start serving the line,’ Oboronlogistics said.
The 2010-built vessel has a cargo capacity of 700 tons including up to 20 trailers and a passenger capacity of over 130 people. The ferry has a speed up to 12 knots and can provide a sailing time of 4 hours between the two ports.
The service is aimed mainly at transporting civil and construction cargo for the Donbass region.
