The Zvezdochka Shiprepair Center, part of United Shipbuilding Corp., has completed pre-navigation maintenance of Russia’s only operating paddle steamship “N.V.Gogol”.
According to USC, this year will be the vessel’s 111th navigation season. Zvezdochka saved the unique steamer from utilization preserving the original steam machine and other mechanisms, and back in 1972 the vessel started navigating on the North Dvina River.
During the 50 years of operation, the “N.V.Gogol” plied over 1 mn miles carrying more than 1 mn passengers.
