TransContainer is launching new rail services to transport containers from China to St. Petersburg via the land border crossing in Zabaikalsk and via the territory of Kazakhstan and the border crossing point of Dostyk.
Cargo originating different regions of China will be consolidated at Zabaikalsk and Dostyk and then carried to the rail station of Shushary where TransContainer operates a dry port of Logistika Terminal in the company’s own rolling stock.
The first regular public block train laden with 56 units left Zabaikalsk on May 17 and is expected to arrive in St. Petersburg 8 says later. The service frequency is planned as weekly.
The first train with 50 containers from Dostyk is scheduled for the end of May, the transit time via Kazakhstan and Russia is to make some 7 days.
