The RF Government has ordered to open the Nizhneleninskoe railway border crossing point on the Russian-Chinese border. An order to this effect was signed by Premier Mikhail Mishustin on April 11.
The authorities concerned (customs and border control services, etc.) are commissioned to start performing control functions at the border crossing checkpoint w.e.f. April 20.
The Nizhneleninskoe border crossing checkpoint was closed since January 2020 due to the COVID-19 restrictions.
Later, in early May, another border crossing between Russia and China, the Pokrovka checkpoint on the Ussuri River, is to be reopened. It was also temporarily closed due to the pandemic.
Last week, the railway border crossing point of Zabaikalsk on the Russian-Chinese border was reopened after reconstruction.
