Privolzhskaya Railway has organized the first shipment of containerized calcium chloride from the station of Kutum in Astrakhan Region.
The chemicals packed in big bags were trucked from the manufacturer’s production facility to the rail terminal and stuffed into containers.
The first shipment of 200 tons has already been sent by rail to Kazakhstan. Annually, it is planned to loaf up to 300,000 tons of calcium chloride at Kutum.
The commodity is used in to make food products, paper, chemicals, in textile and pharmaceutic industries, in agriculture as well as de-icing for roads.
