Car and Truck Import and Export in January 2022

  • According to the RF Federal Customs Service’s statistics, in January 2022, Russia’s car export was up 48.9% year-on-year and down 16.7% month-on-month to make 7 thousand units. Truck export made 800 units, up 33.3% year-on-year, but down 52.9% month-on-month.

    In terms of value, car export increased by 23.5% year-on-year and decreased by 41% month-on-month to make $77.8 mn in January 2022. Truck export was worth $14.8 mn, down 21.3% year-on-year and down 68.3% month-on-month.

    In January 2022, car import grew by 39.1% year-on-year and by 2% month-on-month to 24.9 thousand units. Truck import made 3 thousand units, up 57.9% year-on-year, and down 18.9% month-on-month.

    In terms of value, car import in January 2022 increased by 43.9% year-on-year and decreased by 2.1% month-on-month to make $618.8 mn. Truck import was worth $180.7 mn, up 68.6% year-on-year and down 13.6% month-on-month.
