Novaya Pristan, a joint venture between Novorossiysk-based NZT and NKKhP, both parts of Demetra Holding, has started designing port infrastructure for two deepwater berths, grain loading racks and auxiliary objects in the port of Novorossiysk.
At present, the first stages of design and survey works, namely, engineering survey pf the existing hydraulic structures are underway. Parallel to design and survey works, layout planning solutions are being developed.
The detailed design is to be completed and permits from the authorities concerned are expected to be obtained in 2025. The construction of additional berths and the modernization of the existing facilities are aimed at increasing the aggregate capacity by 9 mn tons.
According to SeaNew PortStat online analuytic service, in 2021 NZT handled 9.2 mn tons, mostly grain, down 19.3% year-on-year.
