The “Admiral Nevelskoy” designed by Marine Engineering Bureau and built at Nevsky Shipyard has received the Best Ice Class Ro-Pax award from Baird Maritime, United Shipbuilding Corp. reports.
The ferry is deployed in difficult conditions shuttling between Sakhalin and the Kuril Islands. The Project PV22 is designed to accommodate 146 passengers and cargo, including refrigerated and IMO class commodities, 24 containers (8 reefer containers included) and 6 cars.
The vessel concept is based on the Project MPSV07 Arctic rescuer project, Nevsky Shipyard has built 4 vessels of this project, and has improved maneuverability compared to the existing vessels.
The vessel was built under the programme aimed and social and economic development of the Kuril Islands during 2016-2025.
