New MD Appointed for Rosmorport

  • Sergey Pylin has been appointed new Managing Director with Rosmorport, Russia’s government port management agency. On February 8, he was introduced to the agency’s staff in Moscow by Deputy Transport Minister Alexander Poshivay.

The latter said that one of the major tasks set forth for the new director will be incorporating Rosmorport transforming the federal unitary enterprise into a joint stock company to improve its activities and provide for its full-scale development.

Pylin was born in St. Petersburg, trained as a navy officer with the Frunze Navy Academy and, later, as a lawyer with the St. Petersburg Foreign Liaisons Institute, was head of the Northwest Branch of Rosmorport for almost 12 years.

Alexander Smirnov, who was at the helm of Rosmorport since March 2021, will stay with the company as first deputy MD.
