During January-May 2021 Russia’s export of sawn goods made 7 mn tons, down 4.2% year-on-year. According to the RF Federal Customs Service’s statistics, in terms of value, sawn goods export was up 21.3% making $2.1 bn.
Logs export increased by 16.8% year-on-year up to 5.8 mn cbm worth $440.4 mn, up 24.5% year-on-year.
Plywood export grew by 9.9% year-on-year to make 1.3 mn cbm worth $627.5 mn, up 31.4% year-on-year.
Wood pulp export in January-May 2021 amounted to 885.3 thousand tons, down 1.1% year-on-year worth $483.7 mn, up 26.6% year-on-year.
Newsprint export made 382.7 thousand tons, down 22.3% year-on-year, worth $138.6 mn, down 17.9% year-on-year.
In May, sawn goods export made 1.7 mn tons, up 7.2% year-on-year and down 4.2% month-on-month worth $530.2 mn, up 46.1% year-on-year and down 6.2% month-on-month.
Logs export made over 1.3 mn cbm, up 17.6% year-on-year and up 11.5% month-on-month. In terms of value, it increased by 19.6% year-on-year and by 13.2% month-on-month to make $97.7 mn.
Plywood export in May made 252.1 thousand cbm, up 16.3% year-on-year and down 12.7% month-on-month. In terms of value, it grew by 54.5% year-on-year and by 1.6% month-on-month making to $142.6 mn.
Wood pulp export made 175.4 thousand tons, up 32.7% year-on-year and down 16.6% month-on-month. In terms of value, wood pulp export surged 2-fold year-on-year and declined by 5.1% month-on-month to make $119.9 mn.
Newsprint export declined by 21.8% year-on-year and increased by 5.1% month-on-month to make 83.1 thousand tons in terms of tonnage. In terms of value, it was down 3.7% year-on-year and up 13% month-to-month to $33.8 mn.
