Rusatom Overseas, a subsidiary of Russia’s nuclear Rosatom Concern, France’s Air Liquide, and the Government of Sakhalin Oblast have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to study options for developing a low carbon hydrogen production facility on the island of Sakhalin.
According to Rusatom, the primary feasibility study is to be completed by the end of 2021, after which the principal investment decision is to be taken. The idea is to export Sakhalin-produced carbon-neutral hydrogen to the APR. The projected export can amount to 30,000 to 100,000 tons per annum.
