SASCO Acquires Dry Cargo Ship

  • Sakhalin Shipping Company has acquired a dry cargo vessel. The “SASCO Aldan” was called “Lea Auerbach” when delivered by CSC Group in 2007.

The 12,000 dwt, 138 m LOA, 21 m beam ship is equipped with two onboard cranes with a capacity of 120 tons each. On April 7 the “SASCO Aldan” left for her first voyage under the new owner and new name from Busan to China and then to Vladivostok.

SASCO intends to deploy the vessel on the company’s regular service between Vladivostok and Magadan. During the summer navigation season, the “SASCO Aldan” will carry cargo along the Northern Sea Route and to the Chukotka Autonomous Region under the so-called Northern Delivery programme.
