Container Traffic via Azov and Black Sea Basin Ports in February 2021 Up 11.7%

    According to SeaNews PORTSTAT analytic online service, the total container throughput via the Azov and Black Sea basin ports in February 2021 increased by 11.7% year-on-year. Import was up 3.1%, export up 21.6%. Transit dropped by 88.9%. Cabotage was non-existent in February 2021.

    The share of the Azov and Black Sea basin in the total container traffic via all the Russian seaports in February 2021 amounted to 18.9%.

    Laden container throughput grew by 17.4% year-on-year. Reefer containers accounted for 26.5% of the total laden container traffic, and dry containers for 73.5%. Imports made 58.7% of all the laden containers, exports 41.3%, transit 0.01%.

    Empty container traffic decreased by 2.8%.

    The port of Novorossiysk accounted for 99.2% of the aggregate container throughput via the Russian Azov and Black Sea basin sea ports in February. Azov handled 0.8%, and Kavkaz 0.1% of the total.
