According to the RF Federal Customs Service’s statistics, Russia’s car import in January-May 2020 was down 33.8% year-on-year to 77.1 thousand units. Truck import during the first 5 months of the year declined by 37.6% year-on-year down to 6.8 thousand units.
In terms of value, car import during January-May decreased by 41.2% year-on-year down to $1.9 bn. Truck import dropped by 52.6% down to $392.7 mn.
In May 2020, car import was down 58.9% year-on-year and down 20.3% month-on-month to make 11 thousand units. Truck import made 1 thousand units, down 44.4% year-on-year, but up 11.1% month-on-month.
In terms of value, car import dropped by 66.6% year-on-year and by 13.9% month-on-month to make $234.9 mn in May. Truck import was worth $57.2 mn, down 54.9% year-on-year and up 0.9% month-on-month.
Russia’s car export in January-May 2020 was down 44.2% year-on-year to 24.9 thousand units. Truck export declined by 25% making 3.9 thousand units.
In terms of value, car export was down 41.9% year-on-year amounting to more than $355.4 mn. Truck export decreased by 7.7% to make $118 mn.
In May, car export dropped by 72.9% year-on-year and by 33.3% month-on-month down to 3 thousand units. Truck export made 700 units, down 36.4% year-on-year and down 22.2% month-on-month.
In terms of value, car export in May decreased by 67.6% year-on-year and by 2.2% month-on-month to make $49.7 mn. Truck export was worth $24.4 mn, up 4.7% year-on-year and up 7% month-on-month.
