According to the RF Federal Customs Service statistics, during Q1 2020 Russia exported 9.5 mn tons of ferrous metals, down 12.6% year-on-year. In terms of value, ferrous metals export declined by 20.5% down to $3.9 bn.
Intermediate iron and unalloyed steel products export was down 7.4% year-on-year to some 3.8 mn tons. In terms of value, it decreased by 14.5% down to $1.48 bn.
Iron and unalloyed steel flat section export in January-March 2020 declined by 11.4% year-on-year down to 1.5 mn tons worth $748.2 mn, down 22.9%.
Cast iron export during the 3 months 2020 dropped by 53.9% year-on-year down to 566.9 thousand tons worth over $174.2 mn, down 59.8%.
Ferroalloys export decreased by 4.9% year-on-year down to 201 thousand tons worth $258.7 mn (-24.4%).
According to the RF Federal Customs Service statistics, in March 2020 ferrous metals export was down 3.8% year-on-year and up 35.4% month-on-month to 3.7 mn tons. In terms of value, it declined by 14.9% year-on-year and increased by 24.9% month-on-month to make $1.47 bn.
Intermediate iron and unalloyed steel products export was down 6.7% year-on-year and up 10.3% month-on-month making 1.32 mn tons. In terms of value, it decreased by 14.1% year-on-year and grew by 8.8% month-on-month to $524.4 mn.
Iron and unalloyed steel flat section export in March 2020 was up 5.4% year-on-year and up 14.3% month-on-month making 557.7 thousand tons worth $266.2 mn (down 12.4% year-on-year and up 14.4% month-on-month).
Cast iron export made 276.4 thousand tons, down 50.4% year-on-year and up 3.7-fold month-on-month. In terms of value, it amounted to $84 mn, down 56.3% year-on-year and up 3.5-fold month-on-month.
Ferroalloy export in March 2020 was up 30.1% year-on-year and up 60.2% month-on-month to 83 thousand tons. In terms of value, it increased slightly by 0.5% year-on-year and grew by 43.9% month-on-month to make $103.3 mn.
