Azov and Caspian Freight Market, Week 51, 2018

  • In the Sea of Azov, trading activity is lower than last week, but rates are holding the same position due to the lack of tonnage and adverse weather conditions in the region.

Charterers, meanwhile, are trying to bring rates down and introducing to market initial ideas as $29 pmt to Marmara, according to Rufco shipbrokers.

Freight rates to the Sea of Marmara from Rostov make $31-33 per ton.

Freight rates from Rostov to SE Black Sea ports are $29-31 per ton.

In the Caspian Sea, rates remain intact. There are opinions that the market here is going to continue in a mainly sideward trend with slow successive declines for the rest of the winter period.

The current freight rates from Astrakhan to Iran remain at $47-49 per ton.

Please note that the rates cited in this article are average market rates. We ask our readers to pay attention that this information is not a commercial offer and cannot be an example for comparison in commercial disputes and arbitration proceedings.
