Baltic and NW Europe Freight Market, Week 46, 2018

  • During week 46, freight rates for shipping cargo by Handysize bulkers in the Baltic and the NW European region demonstrated an upward trend.

    According to Glogos Project brokers, freight rates for shipping wheat by Handysize bulkers from ARAG to East Med grew up to $35 per ton, and to West Med up to $27 per ton.

    Freight rates for wheat from the Baltic to North Spain amounted to $23 per ton.

    Freight rates for shipping scrap by Handysize bulkers from the Baltic to East Med remained on the previous week’s level and made $43 per ton for 15,000 dwt vessels and $40 per ton for 25,000 dwt vessels.

    ARAG – East Med rates increased by $3 up to $37 per ton.

    Freight rates for shipping coal by Handysize bulkers from the Baltic to North Spain for 15,000 dwt ships grew up to $24 per ton, and those for 25,000 dwt ships up to $21 per ton.
