According to the RF Federal Customs Service statistics, in August 2018 Russia exported 4.7 mn tons of wheat and meslin, up 22.1% month-on-month.
During the entire 8 month period since the year start wheat and meslin export made 27.8 mn tons, up 65.9% year-on-year.
In terms of value, grain export surged 71.4% up to $5.1 bn.
Wheat import into Russia during January-August of 2018 grew 24.3% amounting to 217.9 thousand tons.
In terms of value, wheat import was up 26.8% up to $34.5 mn.
Barley import dropped 91.6% down to 12.4 thousand tons, corn import declined 13.7% down to 34.7 thousand tons.
In terms of value, barley import was down 93.4% to $2 mn, and corn import down 8% to $126.6 mn.
