TransContainer has developed a new logistics product for carrying containers from Urumqi in China to Europe via the territories of Kazakhstan, Russia and Finland.
The first train left Urumqi on December 12 and arrived in Kotka on December 22.
There the 41 40’ container with organic chemicals and other cargo were loaded on aboard a ship, which is to arrive at Rotterdam early in 2018.
In Rotterdam the containers will be loaded with cargo for Central Asia.
Whether the service will become regular is up to the customer, who will make a decision depending on the results of this shipment.
According to TransContainer, the capacity of the Finnish railways and ports allows to avoid delays.
