Freight market of Baltic and Northwestern Europe, week 47

  • As for the 46th week, freight rates in Baltic and Northern Europe regions remained mostly on the level of the previous week.

    Rates for wheat shipments by bulk carriers in the Handysize class were steady. Rates for scrap shipment, according to the brokerage company Glogos Project, mostly remained unchanged. Only on the range Baltic – Western Mediterranean the rates for scrap shipments by vessels with 25,000 DWT decreased from 26 to 25 dollars per ton.

    On the 47th week rates for the coal shipments by bulk carriers of Handysize class remained steady. Shipments of cargo by coasters remained on the same level – the rates remained unchanged for all types of cargo mentioned by Glogos Project.
