Russian Railways Ban Loading Coal and Oil Products Designated for Ports

  • This January, Russian Railways had to suspend loading cargo designated for some port terminals, which do not cope with timely unloading, the railway monopoly said in its social media account.

    According to Russian Railways, loading volume grew 3.8% during the first days of 2022, and not all the terminals were prepared to handle the increasing railway traffic due to equipment failure, vessel delays or frozen cargo, like coal.

    In the Far East, VaninoTRansUgol, Posyet, RN Sea Terminal Nakhodka andVostoktransbunker were affected. In the several terminals in Ust-Luga find it difficult to cope with frozen coal and oil products. In the South, Tuapse and Novorossiysk oil product terminals lag behind the schedule.
