According to the RF Federal Customs Service statistics, during January-September 2020 Russia imported 40.1 mn pairs of leather footwear, down 18.5% year-on-year. In terms of value, leather footwear import decreased by 23.2% year-on-year down to $1 bn.
Clothes import into Russia declined by 5.5% down to $5.3 bn.
Cotton fabric import during the first 9 months was down 5.7% year-on-year to 216.3 mn sqm. In terms of value it decreased by 0.3% down to $115.9 mn.
Cotton fabric export from Russia grew by 31.4% year-on-year up to 105.5 mn sqm worth $37.3 mn, up 2.8%.
In September, leather footwear import declined by 25.9% year-on-year and by 15.7% month-on-month making 4.3 mn pairs worth $141.8 mn, down 21.7% year-on-year and down 10.4% month-on-month.
Clothes import was up 5.6% year-on-year and down 22.8% month-on-month to $673.4 mn.
Cotton fabric import in September grew by 7% year-on-year and by 9.6% month-on-month amounting to more than 27.7 mn sqm. In terms of value, it made $14.6 mn, up 36.4% year-on-year and up 19.7% month-on-month.
Cotton fabric export increased by 4.9% year-on-year and by 15.2% month-on-month to make more 10.4 mn sqm. In terms of value, it made $3.9 mn, down 4.9% year-on-year and up 18.2% month-on-month.
