Global Ports Investments has announced that an Extraordinary General Meeting of the members of Global Ports Investments Plc will be held on March 2, 2018, to consider and, if thought fit, pass the resolution to elect Soren Sjostrand Jakobsen as a director of the company until the next annual general meeting of shareholders of the company.
S.S.Jakobsen has been with the A.P.Moller-Maersk group for more than 37 years, the last 13 years with APM Terminals. Initially he was based in Panama as Regional Manager for Latin America, then for 5 years he was in the Netherlands as Global Head of Project Implementation and since 2013 he has been in Dubai as Portfolio Manager for the joint venture terminals in Africa, Middle East & South Asia.
Prior to joining APM Terminals, S.S.Jakobsen worked for other business units in the Group a.o. Maersk Line and Svitzer. As a Portfolio Manager S.S.Jakobsen is responsible for 8 APM Terminals’ port and terminal business units in the region as well as several logistics entities. S.S.Jakobsen is also a member of the board of other APM Terminals entities.
Earlier, Global Ports informed that another APMT representative, Peder Sondergaard, Chairman of the Board, is stepping down due to the fact that he is leaving his position as Chief Portfolio Officer of APM Terminals.
