A contract to build a floating dock for Arkhangelsk-based Krasnaya Kuznitsa Shiprepair Yard at Shiprepair and Shipbuilding Corporation, United Shipbuilding Corporation has reported.
The new facility will replace Krasnaya Kuznitsa’s oldest dock built in a953. The construction of the new dock is scheduled to start in January 2024. The new facility is to be put into operation in December 2025.
The new floating dock is aimed for serving the vessels operating in the Northern Sea Route, which are expected to grow in number as freight traffic by the route is also growing.
The 28140S Design jack-up dock will have a maximal capacity of 5,000 tons and will be equipped with four 10-ton capacity cranes with a maximum outreach of 25 meters.
The dock will be 158 meters long, 36.8 meters wide and 13.3 meters high.
