  • Russia Starts Grain Delivery to China against 12-Year ContractThe Russian Federation has started fulfilling the contract it signed at the Belt and Road Forum in Beijing for the delivery of 70 million tons of grain during 12 years, EPT industrial and export company, part of Novy Sukhoputny Zernovoy Koridor (New Land Grain Corridor) Group, or NSZK, said in a statement.

    NSZK is responsible for transporting grain to China by rail using its fleet of special purpose grain containers. Soybeans and barley are loaded into special purpose containers at the Group’s Zabaikalsk Grain Terminal and carried to China, where ater unloading they are stuffed with other cargo for the return journey.

    NSZK’s project is aimed at establishing a ‘land-based grain fleet’ capable of transporting up to 600,000 tons of grain at a time, or up to 8 million tons annually.
