The Novorossiysk West Customs Checkpoint has cleared for entrance and departure 116 ro-ro vessels (56 for entrance and 56 for departure), the Novorossiysk Customs reports.
Since 2021, the Novorossiysk West Customs Checkpoint has been performing customs procedures and control operations in respect of ferries and ro-ro vessels operating in the Russia – Turkey trade.
The bulk of the commodities carried between Turkey and Russia are fruit and vegetables, roll-on/roll-off units, and heavylift cargo.
During the period under report, 78.5 thousand tons of cargo was imported on board of ro-ro vessels, down from 90.2 thousand tons during the same period of 2022, and 5.8 thousand tons was exported, up from 3.2 thousand tons in 2022.
Since the start of 2023, 55.2 thousand tons of fruit and vegetables, 1.3 tons of machinery and equipment, 20.4 thousand tons of vehicles and ro-ro units, and 1.6 tons of other goods was imported.
The import of goods in reefer trailers grew 6.2% year-on-year, and the export doubled. At the same time, bulk import dropped 47.8% while bulk export surged 40%.
