100 Million Tons from Yamal LNG Project

  • Since the start of production in December 2017, Yamal LNG has produced 100 mn tons of liquefied natural gas, the company said in a statement.

    The gas liquefaction plant is operating at a production rate exceeding its design capacity by 20%, and the 5.5 mn tons capacity second and third lines were put into operation much ahead of the initial schedule.

    The additional fourth line of the project utilizing the Arctic Cascade technology patented by Novatek added 0.9 mn tons of capacity to the plant.

    At present, Yamal LNG accounts for 5% of the global LNG production.
