Delo Group is studying the prospects and conditions for developing terminal infrastructure for container handling in Kuzbass. Sergey Shishkarev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Delo Group, discussed the relevant projects with the regional authorities, the Group said in a statement.
The development of terminal infrastructure meets the objectives of improving logistics efficiency, balancing import and export flows and meeting the demand for container transportation both within the borders of Kuzbass and the West Siberian Railway. The region’s Ministry of Transportation is currently developing a roadmap to prepare the conditions for launching such projects.
“Kuzbass is an important freight-forming region with a high potential for containerization and can become a major transshipment point for the transportation of imports from the Far East of Russia. For its part, Delo Group is interested in the development of container logistics in the country and optimizing the use of railroad capacities in view of capacity deficit,” said Shishkarev.
“The construction of the container terminal will be a significant factor in improving the logistics of railway container transportation in Kuzbass. In addition, thanks to the realization of the project, new jobs will be created,” said Governor Kuzbass Sergey Tsivilev.
During the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2023 Delo Group and Kuzbass signed a cooperation agreement, which provides for joint work to improve the competitiveness of railway container transportation, as well as the level of cargo containerization in the region.
During the meeting, the parties also discussed the development and popularization of handball in Kemerovo, including the prospects of creating a professional handball team.
