The Main Department of State Expertise (Glavogosexpertiza) has approved the second stage of the reconstruction of navigation locks No15-16 of the Gorodets hydroelectric complex.
The Gorodets hydroelectric complex is one of the 20 major infrastructure projects to be implemented at the expense of the federal budget.
The reconstruction of the navigation locks of the Gorodets hydroelectric complex will ensure that the depth of the Volga River between Nizhny Novgorod and Gorodets is no less than 4 meters.
This will make it possible to ship 32 mn tons of cargo annually instead of the current limit of 12 mn tons.
