FESCO Transport Group has completed the delivery of eight superlarge mining excavators and spare parts for them to India, the Group said in a statement.
The overall weight of the cargo made more than 9,000 tons. The machines were transported disassembled.
The intermodal delivery scheme included road transportation from Kolpino near St. Petersburg to the pot of St. Petersburg and shipping by sea to Calcutta. From there, the equipment was carried 700 km by road to coal mines, where they are now deployed.
The door to door transit time for one disassembled unit made some 90 days, the entire shipment took 18 months to deliver as the excavators were manufactured, from March 2022 till July 2023.
For the next project shipment of mining excavators, FESCO is developing a new scheme, the Group said.
