Туркменистан хочет построить логистический центр на территории ПОЭЗ в Астраханской области

Turkmenistan Mulls Building Logistics Center in Astrakhan Region

  • Turkmenistan suggests building a logistics center on the territory of the port economic zone in Astrakhan Oblast, the press office of the regional government has reported.

Astrakhan Oblast Governor Igor Babushkin made suggestions as to expanding partnership with Turkmenistan in the framework of developing the Caspian cluster, a key regional project aimed at developing the transport corridor.

The Astrakhan region has a long-standing cooperation history with Turkmenistan. Astrakhan Oblast exports to Turkmenistan chemicals, food products, agricultural products, vessels and floating constructions, construction materials, equipment and transport vehicles, and imports from Turkmenistan ferrous metals, mechanic devices and equipment, mineral products, and textiles.

Three companies registered in the region have Turkmenistan capital in their authorized stock. A joint Astrakhan-Turkmen dealing with business issues is established in Astrakhan Oblast.

Recently, Russia has expressed its consent to Turkmenistan’s accession to the Agreement on the North-South international transport corridor.
