Russia Joins Framework Agreement on Cross-Border Paperless Trade Procedures Facilitation in APR

  • RF President Vladimir Putin has signed the Federal Law On the Accession of the Russian Federation to the Framework Agreement on Facilitation of Cross-Border Paperless Trade in The Asian Pacific Region, the Kremlin press office reports.

    The Federal Law was adopted by the State Duma on June 22, 2023, and approved by the Council of the Federation on July 5, 2023.

    The Law provide for the Russian Federation’s accession to the Framework Agreement on Facilitation of Cross-Border Paperless Trade in The Asian Pacific Region adopted on May 19, 2016.

    The Framework Agreement is aimed at developing cross-border paperless trade by creating conditions for mutual acceptance and exchange of electronic documents and trade data.

    It is also aimed at improving the operating compatibility between national and sub-regional ‘single window’ systems in order to improve international trade deals efficiency and transparency.
